Melissa Peralta
Registered Home Manager

I am originally from the Philippines and I took an opportunity to broaden my horizons as a Registered Nurse in the  Isle of Man. I have spent over 21 years as a UKRN delivering a high quality of care to patients through district nursing and in the private nursing homes. My experience in the District Nursing Team provided me with an insight into the complex and holistic approach needed to care for patients living in their own homes and the support agencies both statutory and voluntary which could provide support. This experience with these agencies helped me meet some wonderful supportive people who I have retained strong links with.

Working in various nursing homes in the Isle of Man also developed and broadened my knowledge allowing me to progress from Senior nurse to ultimately Registered Manager. My current role is one of support for the manager at Crovan Court and I look forward to being the registered manager at the new purpose built home in Port Erin, early in 2024.

My love of people and learning new skills means I now have over 12 years of dedication of delivering moving and handling training across all types of organisation (both private and public) and I enjoy training and guiding nursing teams and individuals to achieve both patient and staff safety. I quickly learned the local nuances of the Manx language and ways and very much feel part of the local community.

I have yet to learn the art of the cooking the bonnag but enjoy sharing the joys of Filipino food with all my colleagues from whatever part of the world they travel from. I love to travel to meet people, learn different cultures and traditions.
